Repair for a Suzuki DT85

Hi guys,

Firstly, I've searched everywhere on the internet yet I can't find what I'm looking for. I didn't know who to turn to so here I am.
I recently purchased an outboard DT85 which is in good condition, however I seem to be having a problem with the electrical side of things. I can't get a spark to get the motor running, even though I've checked the spark plugs and leads, but they're are fine. The PTT Relay assembly, ignition coils and CDI unit assembly appear to be in good condition however I'm not sure if the problem is derived from there.

Any idea's on what the problem could be?

Sounds like you need to pick up a service manual for your motor, and start testing the inputs and outputs of the CDI with the proper test equipment.

Need more info, what year, did you purchase without seeing it run, if so, when was the last time it ran, if you don't know and it has the oil injection system, don't even think about starting it without running on 50:1 pre-mix for awhile.

While you're waiting for your manual, do a search on this forum for the DT85, lots of good information to learn about your motor.
