1998 Yamaha 225 OX 66 How to test charging system ?

Hi

I have a 1998 Yamaha saltwater series 225 OX 66

how do I test the charging system to see if its putting out enough voltage?

I ask becuase my Batteries are going dead, and I turn my Battery switch off when the boat is not in use.
Batteries are only on the 2nd season

Check the voltge with a meter at the battery. With the motor running about 2000 RPM you should be reading somewhere about 13.5 to 14.5 volts or more.

Thats what I thought, I was only getting 12.2 volts
