Its time to upgrade from 1972 16ft tri hull with orginal 50 hp Johnson motor.

Will this be an even more reliable fun motor? The 1972 hp Johnson has been amazingly bullet proof and reliable, I just need some more power for my wakeboarding adventures.

Is this 21 year newer yamaha motor really going to use twice as much fuel? I figure it has to have some more efficient advances being newer.

It'll burn twice as much gas, but it's a bigger, stronger, heavier rig. If it looks good and you want it, insist on taking it to the lake/river for a sea trial before you lay down your money$$$. Good Luck!

Its on a 1993 larson i just found out and they want 3500 for it. That sounds like a steal to me. If its real clean is that a great price. I'd like to check the compression. Anyone know what numbers i should be looking for roughly? I know gauges vary and I should really just be looking for similar numbers ammongh the cylinders.

in this market that is not a steal...it is a fair price, after you buy it just for kicks put it up for sale for $4K and see how many calls you get. $3500 can buy you a lot of boat today. cash is king.
