May seem like a silly question... but not me. I'm new to boat ownership in general, including this one. So please bear with me.

The location of the oil fill tube and dip stick is horizontal at the back of the engine (when it's down) facing forward, which seems to preclude checking the oil by reaching all the way over and behind the engine from inside the boat. Also, when the engine is in the up position, the dip stick is vertical but also parallel to the engine, not pointed down towards the crankcase which is what I would expect.

So... how is it done? I've seen demos and videos for other engines, but they all have the aforementioned ports 'on top' of the engine when the prop is in the water. Anyone willing to entertain my ignorance?

Thanks
