I was out today and lowered my engine via the thumb switch for normal operation. In a shallow area I lifted the motor, again by the thumb switch (UP) but the engine would not lower. The DOWN switch was not functional. Power tilt/trim with the button on the engine itself works normally. This engine has Yamaha's electronic digital controls. I know (think) I am looking at an electrical issue, perhaps in the thumb switch, and not a power tilt problem. Does anyone have a guess what problem a thumb switch that works in one direction - up, but not in the other, down, might point toward? Any help much appreciated.
