I have a Yamaha 115 / 4-stroke, 2005. When moving the console-throttle handle forward the engine accelerates, however during this process the handle has to be pulled back a little than forward again almost as if you were ?pumping? the engine to go faster. After it reaches full speed say at 4100 RPM?s the engine begins to decrease back to 3800 RPM and remains at that RPM. To re-accelerate back to 4100 RPM?s the throttle handle is pulled back just a little then push forward quickly.
Any suggestions ? Thank you

It's amazing how durable these engines are, really....you sound as if you are experiencing a lean condition, otherwise known as fuel starvation....this has a crazy side effect of burning a pretty little hole right thru the piston if the owner is determined enough....stop running the engine and get fixed....

Sounds like the screen in your high pressure fuel pump is clogged and starving the engine for fuel. The screen is located in the vst canister behind the intake manifold. You have to remove the manifold to get it out.
