40 hp suzuki running problems

i have a brand new 40 hp suzuki with electric start. when it is running it shuts itself off periodically. the engine always starts right back up but will do it a lot. i dont know if this engine has known problems with sensors or if anyone knows anything out there. i have no licensed dealers on the island were i live and it cost to much to ship it out. it will do this when the motor is warm or cold. sometimes more sometimes not. no real pattern with why it is doing it.

sounds electrical, is it a tiller or steering wheel. who installed motor. sounds like your kill switch needs attension

it is a tiller handle. And i installed the motor myself. its only on a 14 foot skiff.
