Engine was idling poorly yesterday and when my wife put it in gear from nuetral it hit harder than normal. Today as I pulled back from warmup mode to nuetral at the launch ramp it did not kick out of warmup and I could not get it into gear. I tried it again and it worked. It ran fine and made power on the way out. Upon reaching our destination I pulled back on the throttle and the RPM's shot up. I hit Nuetral and it still screamed. I turned off the key and it would not shutoff! I pulled the safety lanyard and it still would not cutoff!The RPM's were off the scale and I could not think of what to do other than put it into gear to kill the motor, which I did, and it worked. Unfortunately it will not shift into reverse with engine off. I called SeaTow and got pulled in. Have not attempted a start yet. I plan on troubleshooting later this week, any advise would be appreciated.
