I've got a Yamaha 40 2 stroke oil injection with intermittent buzzer. I cranked in the driveway with no problems, but it started buzzing when the key was turned on right after I floated it.
Next time I was on the boat, the buzzer didn't come on with the Key anymore, but it sounded as I drained the oil tank and replaced the oil (so I know the low oil level alarm works). I started the boat and ran it for a while with no problems, it started and ran several times and had a stream of water.
But after dropping the cooler at the dock, the buzzer was back when I turned the key on. It started and idled, but would break up with any throttle. It never stalled, but sputtered and spit.
I'm not sure what to try. I know the oil is clean and getting to the injector pump. I know that the impeller is moving water through it. There really is something wrong with the motor when the buzzer is on, but I can't tell what starts it.
Any hints or ideas?
