Ok folks I have this ticking noise coming from what sounds like a lifter but as we all know these motors don't have lifters they have tappet shims anyway I tore off the valve cover today checked all the tappet clearances and the are within the tolerances of .229-.279 Now when I power up to plane or go from one spot to another it runs good doesn't even skip a beat. But when it idles it tick's and it has never done that before. Do you have any idea why this motor would be ticking? It's loud enough to bug ya. I've just changed the oil too.

Ok I was told do to put some 30w oil in to see if that works I had a couple factors working against me before the oil change number one I apparently had to much impurities in the motor after my rebuild and I put a 10w-40w cheapo brand oil but I had so many oil changes was tired of using the good stuff. Crossing fingers
