i'm keepin this short - previous owner showed it to me running on the boat. when i picked it up he had already taken it off. previous owner had taken the keyed ignition switch and moved it to his dashboard.

i get it home, mount it on my boat, get everything situated and find that no PTT. I label all of his wiring (cause he used all black wire) and carefully removed it placing it on the same terminal when i put the ignition switch back in the control box. I began to look into the reason for no PTT and found that he had hot for PTT going to the ground. it was at this point that i realized that he had mis-wired the switch. now i know for certain that he had the green magneto-off wire going to the ignition hot terminal on the ignition switch. now i have it wired correctly but it makes no spark - at all.

My question is: what was destroyed as a matter of putting voltage to the magneto off wire? what do i need to do to hunt down my no spark problem knowing that this is what happened?

thanks a million for any advice you can offer.
