I have a 1998 Yamaha F50TLRW and the Lower Unit got very hot after idling only 5 minutes with the muffs on? I've never noticed this before but when I put my hand on the lower unit to take off the muffs I noticed it was very warm to the touch. You would not want to keep your hand on it for very long. I winterized it and changed the lower unit oil last year. I do it every year. Any idea what this could be.
My engine is running rough right now and I'm just waiting to take it in to the dealership for them to isolate that problem. I cleaned the fuel system and put in new plugs. The dealer rebuilt the carbs and sync'd them about 4 or 5 months ago. Thanks everyone, Larry
