1999 Yamaha S225TXRX 2 stroke - port motor - twin setup
On the port motor, I get a steady audible alarm and shut the key off after about ten minutes of cruise. Motor runs fine at slow speed. It will not turn following the alarm, but will start and run fine after a rest/cooling.
Pump kits were replaced this year.
I checked thermostats and they open fine.
Temperature plug sensors provide continuity to spec.
I replaced the poppet spring and cleaned the plastic piece.
Following this I had the same issue.
I plan to recheck the poppet and replace the plastic piece as this was the prime suspect here. I am going to remove/replace the thermostats.
I'll also check the screen on the intake as it appeared fine on inspection but I want to remove and examine.
I am going to run the motor in a calm area and use a thermometer gun on the head to check the temperature.
Can anyone think of other issues that I may address - or similar paths into the same issue?
