ohm test on a charge coil results are backwards from what the book says.

i did a resistance test on a charge coil for a two stroke yamaha. the test results are backwards from what the book calls for. brown/red is suppose to be 191-288 ohms and the blue/red is 64-96 ohms. the results i got where br/r 88 ohms and blue/r was 233 ohms. what does this mean

Take it as a misprint, the one with the higher reading/spec is the low speed charge coil and the one with the lower reading/spec is the high speed charge coil. I would invest in a DVA to check the voltage output.
