I helped a buddy install his 2011 150 Yamaha 4 stroke. He repowered from his 1993 175 HP. He has the 704 Binacle control and all Yamaha gauges.. So it went well and he is bringing it back the dealer for an inspection and gaurantee approval. Dealer said all you need to do is hook up the connecters as it was all plug and play. Well we were left with a few empty connecters. On the engine inside the cowling is a 4 pin connecter ( it has 4 wires,2 pink with black stripes one pink and ne pink with a white stripe) , also a big red wire connecter wich goes to the solonoid. Any idea about these wires and connecters? Also from the old harness there are wires with no where to connect, 4 bullet type(1 black, 1 orange, 1 red or pink and 1 tan) and one round 4 pin( 1 green wire, 1 green with red stripe, 1 yellow with red stripe and 1 yellow wire). Are any of the wires from the old harness needed? Or is the black multi pin connecter all that is required as the dealer claimed ?
