side mount control 1997 150 yamaha

I have purchased new yamaha, 1997 150 hp to replace old evinrude 1985 175hp. The boat has evinrude side mount control. I have seen universal controls and see the yamaha model 703 on ebay.

Do I need new control , and should it be a Yamaha? Is the 703 the one I want? I have never tried to do this before. Would old control even work? Thanks.mk

#703 Controls would should work for that yammi 150hp. if you have ptt you will need the 10-pin harness on the controls. They should work for both 2 or four stroke motors. I had a 1995 150hp sold it but keeped the controls and i use those controls now for a 2005 25hp.
