2002 Yamaha 25hp 4 stroke water pump replacement

Any major issues doing this that anyone has experienced? I'm gonna tackle it tomorrow.
Got 8 years outta the first one but it acts like it has prostate problems now i.e "weak stream"

bla bla bla took about 30 minutes now I'm back on the water. I've been running boats ALONG TIME and never needed to change a water pump every two years. Every 5 is plenty 8 may be pushing it but whatever!

I agree Pas Bon why change a wp when its still flowing fine like my 2005 F25 yami. My discharge system is still strong after 5 years!

Sure hope you are not out but a few miles when the pump craters and have a good battery and trolling motor or paddles as I have seen some even less that 5 turn loose from the shaft hub and mine that lost a few vanes in less than 1 year, best to follow the recommended PPM and keep an eye on the stream just be sure.
