Guys

I just put my reconditioned prop on after hammering it on something last month and found the shaft wobbles.

I found an encouraging post from '01 or '02, but am curious if anyone has experience/guidance since then for replacement. A line on tools and pullers will help.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, mostly in the last year, about a dozen trips and not since my ding. No play or grind in the shaft, just rotates slightly off center.

The outboard went through two divorces before we got it last January and saw very little use. The skeg still has all the paint and you can eat off the power head. No hour meter.

Thanks

BTW, Thanks for hanging in there with colayn.

then most likly your gonna cut the spanner nut, claw nut is what Yamaha calls it, to remove it.
fairly simple.
then use the OMC/BRP carrier removal legs and lots of heat to pull the carrier.
then pull the shift shaft.
then using your manual transfer all the parts to the new propshaft and reassemble.
no shimming required.
