I have a 1986 DT55 I bought a few mouths ago. I started to replace
the waterpump this morning planning on being on the water in the
afternoon. Well no manual told me I was going to have to pull
the lower unit apart to get it back together. Did I miss something??????
The shafter rod is one peice and when you pull it out of the lower
unit the sping on the prop shaft pushs forward not allowing you
to put the shafter rod back in the lower unit. Yes it was in netual.
Sorry guys just venting, I'm just a little pissed.:(:mad:

Re: DT55 Suzuki waterpump replacement

Sorry once again guys, always make sure you read the manual
not the guy helping you. well if we had disconnected the clutch
shaft rod at the motor we wouldn't be pulling the gear box apart
to get the shift cam back in. Also would have miss a half dozen
other things we need to do to get it right.
