1993 40hp 2 cycle. I see a stream coming out back of it. Stream doesn't look as strong as before last trip . Started sputtering and losing power. Then at the dock it started smoking at idle. Then it cuts off. Propeller seemed to come out of the water when we went over some waves. Not sure about that. Trip was 3 hours. Impeller was changed over 2 years ago. Running 50-1 Quick silver. 89 octane. 10% ethanol.
If it is the impeller how do I change it? Other causes? Just all of a sudden sputtering and loss of power. Then smoke coming from the engine cover at idle. Hope nothing burned up? Wasn't ran long after symptoms started
New to me boat. New to outboards, but that is what we had when I was a kid and I still love them.
