Suzuki Cooling Issue

Hi, My 1988 Suzuki DT115 pisses strong until boat gets up on plane at high RPMs. I recently installed planing fins, i may take them off, but would still like to get up on a plane without overheating. New Impeller installed and pees fine until planing off.

check the thermostat. I may be wrong but I seem to remember reading that as long as the impeller is working it will pee regardless as to whether the thermostat opens or not

Could be sucking air if planning fins cause too much turbulence around intake or raises intake too high

Is your motor mounted at the correct heigh?
