Suzuki 1987 85 hp oil injected outboard

I have a 1987 85hp Suzuki oil injected outboard and it is injecting to much oil. So i am trying to find the oil to gas ratio to just mix the oil with the gas. Any ideas?

50:1 ..... how sure are you it is not getting enough oil? These oil injection systems are pretty good ......

would anyone have any input regarding bypassing the VRO system on a 1987DT85 and adding the oil directly into the gas tank? I believe the it may be fouling my plugs when I run through a 5mph zone for too long.

The boat is new to us, she runs great out in the bay, turning 5k WOT.... just as I get close to my dock she stalls out and won't restart. I don't believe it is overheating because it is cool to the touch. Any idea would be appreciated.

Maybe it may just be allergic to going home!

Maybe the carbs need rebuilding.

Is it running too cool? Loading up is a symptom of running too cool.

that may be it, but how do I get it to run hotter? Change the thermostat?

Yes. You can pull out the existing and test. There may not even be one in there.

I'm not positive but I believe the spark plugs were getting flooded and causing the boat to stall. But it hasn't stalled in a while so i think i'm good for now.

thanks for the help...I had the carbs cleaned and my problems are gone !!!

Not 100% sure, but I remember smaller Suzukis operating with a 100 to 1 oil ratio. Probably the bigger ones would need 100 to 1 for idling and 50 to 1 for WOT operation.
