I just bought a new boat, Ryds 495GT, powered with a 2 strokes Johnson 60 HP 1988 (oil injection), 3 Cylinders.
Now I have a chance to repower it with a 2 strokes Yamaha 75HP 1992 (oil pre-mix, NOT autolube).
As far as I could find in the web, both are in the same weight range, aprox 250 lb.
I need advice regarding:
1- Fuel consumption (it matters here in Sweden where we pay over $6 per gallon)
2- Performance/Reliability
3- Is it a hazard to use pre-mix?
4- Finally, would be a good move toward the Yamaha 75HP?
The age of the engines will matter when it comes to market price, but both are in quite good shape.
