Yamaha V4 140HP 2Stroke Outboard

Hi Guys,

I have a 140bet 6F3 L 520718 Yamaha V4 140HP 2 Stroke Outboard Motor (Dark Blue colour) but am not sure which year this is (probably 1994). I have been wrecking my brains to find an owners service manual for this motor. I've also tried yamahapubs.com but can't find the precise manual for my model.

Mechanics have advised that the 115HP manual should be the same as this motor.
Other machanics told me that the 130HP and the 150HP models are also good but i would like to buy the precise manual if possible..
i have photocopies of the carb parts from the local agents system and at the bottom left hand side there is written 115a / 140a

I noticed that my model was then replaced by a grey coloured model.. same model, same shape, same everything, except for the fact that this one had an oil tank to mix the oil automatically instead of having to mix the oil direct with the fuel like mine is.

Can anyone help me on this? any ideas would be appreciated. i've been searching everywhere for this manual... google, ebay, etc etc...

Hi Kieth,

I'm over here in sunny England and have just finished re-building my 140aeto. Are you positive that it's a 140B not a 140A? I have the manual which is part number 6E5-28197-40 if that helps.

Hi Keith,

Just to add to that, my serial number is 6F3 L 351224 and its a 1986/87 unit. I think that you have a 140A.

that is a non US market motor so I cant help much.
best I recall the 140A was a precision blend oil injected and the 140B was not oil injected and required premix.
its very close to the 115 and 130 that was imported to the US until jan 01 2010.

hi guys!, i know this is a late reply.. 2 years late!!! but i had changed my email address and didnt receive any updates on this.

Just for informations sake for you guys i have found out that my model is a 1989 model and it did not enter the US market. Same thing exactly to the US market though was the 130, same parts, same everything... probably some minor changes but more of a marketing thing!
