I have a Yamaha 150 4 stroke -TXRC. I recently ordered a new pressure control valve and when it came in it looked different from the original part in that this one had a rounded button look to it. Nothing like the orginal one in the motor. Is this a redesign of this part and if so why was it done? Would like to know before I put it in.

its redesigned.
make sure you replace the grommet.
its not the valve that fails its when the corrosion squeezes the grommet down and sticks the original design thats the problem.

Rodbolt,
Was this redesign done in an effort to help with the "Making Oil" issue?
Just curious.
Thanks.

KC
nope
the making oil issue is addessed by making sure the t-stat is working correctly and the engine can spin between 5800 and 6000 RPM with the load that day.
