25 HP Suzuki case silencer

I have a 1996 25 HP Suzuki outboard DT25C.
It is missing the case silencer and silencer cover that goes in front of the carbs. Is it safe to run this motor without the case silencer? Someone said that some engines will run lean without it and you shouldn't run WOT.
Does anyone have one for sale? Thanks!

I have ordered Suzuki parts from Browns Point Marine.com and (sorry guys) boats.net. Both are very resonable, takes a bout 7 days to get your parts.
