Re: disconnecting oil on 1994 150 Yamaha

as a tech I simply would not do that.
as a tech I would have to explain the advantages of the yamaha oiling system that oils the incoming air fuel mix by spraying oil into the intake assy that way in the event of a clogged carb jet the piston and crank still get oil and if its premix it wont.
then I would explain that yamaha maint says to test the system periodicly and the test takes maybe 10 min tops.
then I would explain to simply top off the remote tank at every fillup.
standard yamaha tank is 2.9 gallons.
at WOT that system can supply oil for about 150 gallons of gas.
if he forgot to add oil to his tank odds are high he will forget to add the correct amount of oil to the gas.
no alarm for that.

Offer him 1/2 the value for his old one and sell him a nice 4 stroke :)

Have to agree with Rodbolt though. Any time a premix 2stroke carb goes lean because of dirt/varnish, it goes lean on oil to.

The only time i'll make the conversion is for the smaller J/Rude OB's.
