Yamaha 60hp carbs leak

I recently rebuilt my (1989) 60FETO and noticed that when I start the engine fuel dribbles out from the back of the carbs. In effect coming out from the air intakes. I have taken them apart and checked the float level and shut off valves and all seems okay with the valves shutting. The carbs are second hand and I was led to believe that they are for a 60hp engine. Is it possible that the carbs are from a bigger Yamaha and they are supplying to much fuel ?

Too large a main jet, maybe, dunno. Did you install new carb kits?

Me thinks the float level needs rechecking as per the manual specifications.
