Thank you in advance for any good info....
Motor 05 Yamaha 60HP 2 stroke mounted on 05 Palm Beach 151 boat.
When not stuck, the steering operates smooth and free. However when I don't use the boat for a month or so, the steering is stuck. I have lubed the "grease/lubrication points" on the motor arm several times, but no help. When she sits a while, it's stuck again.
I am thinking about taking the other end apart (at the steering wheel) and try to send some lubrication in that end, but its up in a tight place, up in the center console, and I could use some suggestions how to do it, what to watch for etc...if you think that it may solve the problem.
Again, thanks for help.

salt water is nasty stuff.
remove the cable from the engine tilt tube.
use a dingle ball style brake cylinder hone and clean the tube.
then apply a water resistant grease, mercury special lube 101 is great, and reassemble.

There you go..you just got your answer from the pro....

They also make a steering tube adapter that has a grease fitting on it to keep that tube lubed. Probably find one right here on iboats...
