I broke the air screw off on my 2006 Yamaha 25HP 2-Stroke. I ordered a new replacement screw.
What is the proper setting for the screw. It appears to be about 12 turns but how is it properly adjusted.

If you are talking about the pilot adjusting screw, they are usually measured by the turns out from lightly seated.
Usually around 1 1/2 turns out, but I do not know exactly what your motor spec is. You need to check a manual for your motor modle #

There is no standard setting. There is a base setting, and you go from there either in or out on the screw from that base setting to fine tune the mixture by ear.
as 99yam40 said, 1 1/2 turns out should get the motor running.

How on earth did you break the screw? If you torqued it down into the carb until it broke, you possibly may need a new carb.

I broke it when i turned the cab upside down to undo the bowl screws. Just pushed down too hard.
Foolish but true.
