I have a 2004 25MSHC 2 stroke 2 cylinder Yamaha. I developed water in the lower cylinder thru what I believe is a bad head gasket. After tear down The connecting rod and crank bearing have a small amount of rust on them and the rod seems a bit sloppy compared to the good upper cylinder. Can I buy a new rod and big bearing and have it replaced? Does anyone fix these crankshafts? Or are they just replaced as a unit? I'm sure it needs to be pressed apart but I cant afford a new crank assm. Is Mariner by Yamaha the same crankshaft or is this a Yamaha only crankshaft. Used ones have been tough to find ,so far. If I can figure a solution to repair the crankshaft I can hopefully get my outboard back. Thank you for your time.
