had on hell of a time getting the bolts off to do the water pump, was wondering if i can put some anti-seize on the bolts to help it not get stuck so much for next time.

I dont see why not , Every job I do on anything that is bolted (auto, boat or aircraft) use a anti-seize either nickel or copper based.Makes life a whole lot easier when you have to go in there again. It will stop galvanic corrosion with dissimilar metals(steel bolt into aluminum) will be more than its weight in gold(and then some) if you run salt water. You will be glad you did, cheapest anti agrivation product you can buy.

DO NOT USE COPPER.
best is quicksilver special lube 101.
can be purchased at any mercury or mercruiser dealers or most napa stores.
