Yamaha 60 hp Alarm.

I have a 2003 60 hp Yamaha 2-stroke outboard on a 16 ft Triumph.
While going just above idle for 10-15 min. an alarm sounded under the control box. The engine did NOT stop "peeing" during this. (leads me to believe the water intake was/is working properly.) The oil level was recently topped of and there was plenty in the reservoir. After allowing the engine to cool, i was able to re-crank with no alarm, then 10 min. or so later it would sound again. (Overheating? is my best guess)
...but what are the proper steps in ratifying the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Yamaha 60 hp Alarm.

Just because it is "peeing" does not mean it is getting propper waterflow and pressure...
