Hi I have a 2004 yamaha 150 2 stroke that temp alarm goes on even when I first turn key to on position . after starting the alarm will stay on for 60 seconds It has also gone on a few times once trolling at 1200 rpm and a couple times @3200/3500 rpm if I turn battery switch to off then back to on the alarm goes away. Has had thermostats water pump and temp sensor replaced. Any Ideas ??? THANKS

Are you sure it's temp alarm? Could also be oil level or water in fuel alarm.

Thanks for the replies , I had the same problem last season
The alarm is deafening so I don't think it should sound at start up
and the temp icon is flashing while its sounding

Re: false temp alarm Yamaha 150

when you turn the key on on a single engine US market V6 you should get NO alarm period.
there are about 8 ways to set an alarm tone on a V6.
low battery voltage and depending on options in 04 water detect.
without a model number thats about all I can say as the 150 was made in various 2 stoke versions in that year.
