Long time lurker, first time poster. Decided to jump inhead first and rebuilt the lower unit on my 93 dt140. The recommended thrust play for the prop shaft is .008in to .012in. I read .006 and .009 on my gear gauge, I am confident in is closer to the latter. How important are the thrust play specs? Do I have to be spot on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
