Can Anyone Help With Lower Unit REMOVAL Procedure? I Need To Replace My Impeller. Would Like To Know If I Have To Remove Carbs To Get To Shift Linkage Disengagement? I have a 85 Suzuki, I think its 1990 or so.

Re: Suzuki, Procedure For Lower Unit Removal!

Welcome to iboats ;) .... Nope you do not have to remove your carbs .... what you must do is put your motor in gear, then at the lower unit at the back just above where it splits you need to un-link the rod running down, you will only see a little part of it in the gap ..... loosen the bolts on the lower unit (use WD 40 long before the time so the bolts can come loose without breaking off) drop the lower unit and open up the water pump and replace impeller, make sure you put the new impeller in the exact same way the old one is sitting in its housing .....
