2004 80hp yamaha 4stroke batt charging

does anyone have a circuit diagram for the alternator charge to the battery or tell me how it works.I just put in a new twin battery system and don,t remember seeing a charge wire coming from the alternator , only the start - and + or does the motor use the start wires to charge the batt after starting
