Is anyone having trouble with Suzuki overheating alarms? I am. My alarm goes off very frequently (every 3-5 minutes, at times) and then almost immediately shuts down the engine.
I run the boat in the Great South Bay off LI's South Shore. There is lots of eelgrass in the water (and not just in big floating rafts) and it tends to get caught on the intake screen and constricted water flow.
I have found an number of other owners of Suzuki's who are having the same problem. Other engines (Hondas for example) do not report the same problem.
Any suggested solutions?

Take the thermostat out and throw it in the garbage.
