Suzuki v6 Interchanging entire electronic/ignition systems

This may sound strange, but i have a boat with 2 200hp 87 vintage suzi's - one bad.

i have an opportunity for a replacement with a 91 vintage that has some ignition problems.

this would make a great 'core' and i'd like to do a wholesale electronics swap - essentially taking the 91 back to known good 87 components ( everything from stator to spark plugs.

any comments on feasibility? any definite 'don't do it it won't work'!

It will work just fine but remember..replace the ENTIRE electrical system.
