My 1992 250 has a bad sneeze when at Idle it will stall after a few sneezes I have to rev the boat up to around 1200 to 1400 rpm for it not too stall out cause of a sneeze and it still sneezes at that high of rpm. After it stalls it fires right up with a flick of the switch. When Im cruesing there is no problems. Also my trim worked once and ahwile and now not at all there is no clicking noise or nothing when I try to trim the motor up or down. (The cowling trim switch is broken off).

Re: 1992 Yamaha 250 V76 Sneeze problem

your carbs are getting nasty and its time to remove, disasemble and clean them. make sure to replace the orings under the enrichment valves.
you will need the service manual, preferably the one from Yamaha, a multimeteer and the TPS harness to properly reset the carb linkage.
on the trim isue it could be a failed switch, failed trim solinoid or a failed trim motor.
there again the yamaha manual has a section on testing with a DVM.
