I currently have tiller steering w/o electronic start. I was wondering how hard it is to install a control box/cables using either stick or column steering for my outboard? Can you buy any ol' cable box to control the outboard. I understand that the control cables would need to be a Suzuki manufacturer. I was also wondering if I could use manual pull start with the control box instead of electronic start. As you can see I am working with a low budget.
I have looked on the internet for a side steering console for my 16' alumacraft jon boat, but was unsuccessful. I am a terrrible welder, but was curious if there was a company that produces custom side steering consoles?
It seems as if others prefer the stick steering for jon boats.
