I have a 2002 F115 4 stroke Yamaha that runs rough at idle and will not exceed 4500 RPM and the RPM bounce between 4000 and 4500 when the motor is cold. After 5 minutes or so, and several throttle downs the motor runs 5800 RPM and idles smoothly. If you shut the motor off and restart the motor it idles perfectly and run 5800 RPM and will run great all day as long as the motor does not cool down. If you let the motor set for 20 minutes are so, it idle rough and will not reach the 5800 RPM but it only take a minute or so and the engine is back to running perfectly.
I have replaced the plugs, fuel filter, water separator filter, drain the fuel and the motor continues to have the same issue.
