115 hp yamaha seems to have low performance.

have 1999 115 hp yamaha 2 stroke on a 1987 actioncraft top speeds seems low with just me at 39-41mph (fish finder gps speed) most people say this is slow for this motor.

also seems to lose power when trying to load boat on trailer. the water pressure gauge fluctuates from 15psi to upwards of 45psi the motor quits. strong water stream coming from motor when pressure drops it seems.

anyone come across this problem or am I creating in my head a nonexistant problem?

find a dealership with test wheel YB1624, that motor should spin the test wheel at 4900-5100, if it can find your hull/prop issue. if it cannot find the engine problem.
water pressure wont affect engine performance however 45 PSI is a bit high.
check the fuel pump output at low speeds and check the water pressure control valve.
sounds like your messing with 2 issues.

thanks for the advice I will hunt around and see what I can locate. I figure any yamaha certified repair shop will know or have the ability to check this out.
