yamaha 225, year 2000, 2 stroke...occasionally see some oil on the top of the gaskets....other engine power trim gaskets are always bone dry....when I let it sit for a couple weeks, I need to manually lift engine, add trim oil...and it works again....fortunately its on a trailer so I can do this..
I know I need a special wrench, but is changing out the gaskets/ring seal easy to do...I do most other work on the engines, but never anything on the hydraulics.
I checked with the local yamaha dealer and they have all the parts in stock, and she seemed to indicate on the phone its no big deal if the "bar" is fine (not pitted).
As a side, the bar is very smooth, no pitting.
