Your help is really appreciated. Motor starts up no problem and is ok up to half throttle but then it bogs down and at full throttle it dies completely. The tach works intermittently even at idle, flipping from numbers to what appears to be an "E". I checked the water separator, fuel filter and battery connections. Given the tach acts up and there seems to be some fuel starvation issue, any ideas on additional troubleshooting? Thanks very much.

Maybe you have a drop in current so the fuel pum's not getting enough amps. I think that motor produces 20 amps but it needs 9 for itself. Go ahead and check your amps from the solenoid thru to the ignition.

Thanks Buoy, amps checked out ok.

Thanks JUSTINTIME. Do you know of any resources on this site that can tell me how to check the fuel pump? Otherwise I'll probably have to bring it to a mechanic's shop. Thanks again.
