Hello all,
Got my 1st boat......"YEAH"...thank you very much. Took it out a few weeks ago so I could find all the little thing I've got to take care of. One of the thing I found was that the hydrolic steering was very sluggish...like it would stick every 10% in eaither direction I turned the wheel. I look at the motor and found every grease fitting I could find and re-greased everything. I seemed to help a little but is still a bit sluggish.......still sticking a little. Do I need to check the steering hydrolic fluid and if so how. Can I lubricate the hydrolic steering cylinder....and if so how. I'm pretty good at car & motorcycle motors but never worked on a boat motor and such. Any advise or instruction would greatly be appricated.

Thanks in advance, Ed

Thanks for the reply,
Do I have to use the name brand hydrolic fluid or can I use any hydrolic steering (auto?)brand. If so what is the diffrence?

Also had a question on the tilt/trim hydrolics.........is this the right place to ask or shall I start a new topic somewhere else?

Thanks again.

For the steering fluid use the recommended type.
