Suzuki Remote

Will a Suzuki Remote off a DT140 1982 work on a DT65 1986. Thanks for any help and if not what year range do I need to look for.

Hi,

I think You can solve it with some investigation this way:

Go to Brownspoint website and select Parts Look-Up.
Check the varoius parts lists and compare the remote controls for various models and year.

A Suzuki NA12S remote control fit many Suzuki models and year. Had a Suzuki DT65 before and it had NA12S remote control. But I know older Suzuki remote controls are little different then this NA12S.

For a Suzuki DT140 from 1982 it seems it was shipped with a remote control "G-6" and DT65 from 1986 was shipped with a NA12S. I recognize the remote control at Brownspoint, "Suzuki DT 65 (1985-1987) Fig. 37 - Remote Control" since that was exactly that I had on my DT65 (1991). I'm not sure You can use a G-6 remote control on a Suzuki that had NA12S as standard remote control.
On the other hand, if You look at DT65 1982 it has 3 different remote controls listed that can be used: G-6, G-7, G-8.

I looked prior to posting and if just and found the same thing. I also attempted to look at cable types to see they were different but could not find anything. I think I am stuck with any remote from 86-97 but still not sure.
