Steering arms on the motors have rusted badly and need replacing.

Have pulled the powerheads off both motors and now staring at the repair manual trying to figure out what to do next. Motors (midsections and lower units) are still on the boat. Can't figure out what needs to come off first or what is holding what together.

Any help would be appreciated, either in getting the steering arms replaced or locating two used midsections.

Thanks

If the powerheads are off, Next I would drop the gearcases out of the way. A service manual will be a real plus before you are done. The amount of work to change out the steering shaft in a corroded motor can be awesome.

Ray - Thanks, it already seems like we've been working on them a long time.

How did it go?

I'll be doing my 91 250 soon when I swap powerheads.
