Hello, I'm trying to replace the Impeller on my Suzuki DT150 (2003) but I cannot get my lower unit to budge. I placed the throttle in forward gear, removed the 6 retaining bolts and the trim tab, whacked on it a while with a rubber mallet and eventually cracked the cavitation plate. The dealer can't get to it until about 10 days but I'd like to get this done so I can take care of some other routine maintenance before we head to the coast.
Can anyone explain what I'm missing? I did not remove the prop. Is this necessary?
