Hello all, I have a DT 50 that will not spark , the last time I used it it was missing and as I come into the dock it back fired a couple of times and stopped.
Since then it will not spark at all , I have sent the coils and the CDI unit away for testing and they came back as OK, I have run some tests on the resistance readings and once again OK. There is one little black box that is on the right hand side ( opposite side to CDI ) as you look at the engine from the rear, my thoughts are that it is some sort of voltage regulator ?
I disconnected the emergency cut out and thats not the problem.
I have tried looking at the part books on Browns Point but I am having trouble dating my engine as no engine number or plate , I believe it is a 1984 is there any other way of telling, the engine hood is silver with blue decals.
Anyone with any ideas I would be most grateful
regards
John
